Grammy-nominated Afrobeats superstar Davido has announced that his fifth studio album, 5ive, will be released on March 14, 2025.
The announcement was made on Saturday through a pre-save link shared across his social media platforms, where he stated, “5ive is scheduled to be released on March 14.”
This album marks a major milestone in Davido’s career, following the success of A Better Time (2020) and Timeless (2023). Fans’ excitement has been building, fuelled by the release of two singles in 2024: “Awuke” featuring YG Marley and “Funds,” which samples Brenda Fassie’s 1997 classic “Vuli Ndlela,” blending traditional African sounds with modern Afrobeat vibes.
In December, the 32-year-old artist shared his enthusiasm for the album, describing it as deeply personal and reflective of his journey. “My people, the journey continues in 2025 with my new album 5IVE. This is straight from the heart — my story, my truth, and my growth,” he said.
Davido, born David Adeleke, rose to fame in 2012 with his breakout hit “Dami Duro” from his debut album Omo Baba Olowo. Over the years, he has released critically acclaimed albums such as A Good Time (2019) and A Better Time (2020).
As the founder of DMW (Davido Music Worldwide), established in 2016, Davido has nurtured numerous talents while solidifying his position as one of Africa’s top artists. With his ever-evolving artistry and global influence, 5ive promises to be another groundbreaking chapter in his illustrious career.
