Former US President Donald Trump is running again for the presidency of the country in the 2024 elections. Trump announced his intentions at an event held at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.
According to the Reuters news agency, Trump’s supporters had previously submitted papers to the United States election authority about setting up a committee called “Donald J. Trump for President 2024”.

The announcement was expected, as Trump had said in advance that he would make a special announcement on Tuesday local time.
Trump was elected President of the United States as the Republican candidate in 2016. He also ran for office in 2020, but lost the election to Democrat Joe Biden .
Trump has persistently claimed that his defeat was the result of large-scale electoral fraud. However, no evidence of this has ever been presented.
The presidential candidate of the Republican Party will be officially chosen in the summer of 2024. There is also more than a year left for the first state-level races.
Florida governor Ron DeSantis , who was elected last week with a landslide victory for another term as governor, has been predicted as one of Trump’s possible challengers.
In last week’s midterm elections, Trump supported several candidates who repeated, among other things, his claims of election fraud. However, many of the candidates supported by Trump lost in important swing states. Indeed, some Republicans have openly blamed Trump for the party’s failure to gain control of the Senate.
