Egypt, UAE Presidents hold talks in Cairo.

by Admin

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sissi welcomed his United Arab Emirates (UAE) counterpart, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to Cairo on Thursday. They met on the tarmac of Cairo airport.

The visit occurs amid rising tensions in the Middle East as Israel escalates its bombing campaign in Lebanon. Alongside the United States, Egypt has been attempting, albeit unsuccessfully, to broker a ceasefire in Gaza.

Additionally, the visit comes as pressure mounts on the Emiratis due to accusations of supporting Sudanese rebels alleged to have committed war crimes.

The Emirati president’s delegation included the ministers of industry, investment, and defence, as well as a national security advisor.

In recent years, financially troubled Egypt has had to rely on Emirati generosity to support its struggling economy.
