Elon Musk has caused a stir with his reaction to a second assassination attempt on Donald Trump.
After reports of gunshots near Trump’s Florida property, Musk took to X to express his surprise at the absence of similar threats against Trump’s political opponents, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
On September 15, 2024, shots were fired near Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Florida, marking the second attempt on Trump’s life in two months. The US Secret Service quickly intervened, opening fire on an armed individual and recovering an AK-style firearm at the scene. Thankfully, Trump was unharmed.
This incident follows a previous attempt in July 2024, when gunfire erupted at an election rally, raising concerns about political violence as the 2024 US elections approach.
Musk, a known Trump supporter, questioned why there have been no similar attacks on Biden or Harris, who are also major figures in the election cycle.
“And no one is even trying to assassinate Biden/Kamala,” Musk wrote on X.

This sparked outrage, with Harris supporters accusing Musk of inciting violence against Kamala Harris and Joe Biden.

Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee for the 2024 election, condemned the attack on Trump, stating that “violence has no place in America.” She expressed relief that Trump was unharmed after the shooting near his property.
President Joe Biden, who has withdrawn from the 2024 race following a challenging debate with Trump, echoed Harris’s sentiments. On X, he praised federal law enforcement and the Secret Service for their efforts in protecting Trump and called for ongoing vigilance against political violence. “There is no place for political violence or any violence ever in our country,” Biden wrote.
