Donald Trump issued a stark warning to Iran on Sunday, vowing that any attack on the United States would be met with “the full strength” of the U.S. military. He also reaffirmed that Washington played no role in Israel’s recent strikes on Iran’s nuclear and intelligence facilities.
The Israeli assault, which began early Friday, targeted nuclear and military infrastructure across Iran, reportedly killing dozens — including senior military commanders and nuclear scientists, according to Iranian sources.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has pledged to strike “every target of the ayatollah regime,” prompting a deadly Iranian missile counterattack.
Trump, who had previously said he was informed of Israel’s plans before the operation began, took to Truth Social on Sunday to reiterate: “The United States had nothing to do with the attack on Iran, tonight.”
He warned, “If we are attacked in any way, shape or form by Iran, the full strength and might of the U.S. Armed Forces will come down on you at levels never seen before.”
Trump also claimed that “we can easily get a deal done between Iran and Israel, and end this bloody conflict!!!”
On Friday, he had urged Tehran to choose diplomacy over escalation, warning that otherwise Israel would launch “even more brutal” attacks.
During his presidency, Trump withdrew the U.S. from the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran — a move that ended a key diplomatic agreement reached under Barack Obama and reimposed heavy sanctions on Tehran.
