Italian champions Napoli are reportedly set to submit a €50m offer for Nigeria international and Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman.
The 27-year-old has emerged as a top target for Napoli, who are seeking a replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia following his January move to Paris Saint-Germain.
Antonio Conte’s side has kicked off the summer transfer window with intent—securing the signature of Kevin De Bruyne and rising star Luca Marianucci—and now aim to reinforce their attack ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
As per CNA, Napoli’s initial offer will fall short of Atalanta’s €60m valuation, but negotiations are expected to intensify in the coming days.
While Lookman had a strained relationship with former Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini, the arrival of new manager Ivan Juric may complicate his potential departure. Juric has expressed a strong desire to keep the reigning African Footballer of the Year at the club.
“It will be tough in the league, there will be fierce competitors,” Juric said during his first press conference, as reported by Calcio Napoli. “The idea would be to keep both Lookman and Ederson, even if the club has clear ideas on the market and I have not made any requests.”
In addition to Napoli, Lookman has drawn interest from Premier League clubs and Barcelona, making his future uncertain. Having previously featured for Charlton, Everton, Fulham, and Leicester City, a return to English football could also be on the cards.
Lookman has thrived at Atalanta, scoring 52 goals and providing 25 assists in 108 appearances. His standout moment came in May 2024 when he netted a stunning hat-trick in the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen, sealing Atalanta’s first-ever European title.
