Hillary Clinton has expressed her hope that Kamala Harris will break the “highest, hardest glass ceiling” in America by becoming the first female president.
Clinton reflected on her own historic achievement of becoming the first woman to secure a major party nomination for president, and she now hopes Kamala Harris will take it a step further.
“At the Democratic National Convention early Tuesday morning, Clinton stated, ‘When a barrier falls for one of us, it clears the way for all of us,’ echoing sentiments from her convention speech eight years ago.
Despite making history with her 2016 presidential bid, Clinton lost the election to Donald Trump.
Addressing thousands in Chicago, Clinton declared that the time had come to pass the torch. “Together, we’ve put a lot of cracks in the highest, hardest glass ceiling. On the other side of that glass ceiling is Kamala Harris, raising her hand and taking the oath of office as our 47th President of the United States.”
