Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has shared that she has never been in love before. Despite her lack of experience with love, the 28-year-old expressed her desire to experience it someday.
In a recent episode of the Flow With Korty show, Tems shared her views on love, stating that she does not believe in the common saying, “love is blind.” Instead, she believes that love is something felt with eyes wide open.
“I haven’t been in love. For me, loving someone means seeing them fully and still wanting to be part of their life. Even if they annoy me sometimes, I would choose them and keep choosing them. I want to experience love, something deep and real, not blind. I don’t think love is blind; if you truly love someone, you love them with your eyes open,” she explained.
Tems also commented on how people often mistake infatuation for love. “I feel like people get infatuated and think that’s falling in love. If you’re blind to someone’s faults, that isn’t love. True love is when you see the person completely, flaws and all, and still want to be with them. I want someone to see all of me and still say, ‘Yes, I want that.’ I want someone to see my flaws and still desire to be with me,” she added.
