Jessie J reveals breast cancer diagnosis

by Admin

English singer-songwriter Jessie J has revealed she’s been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer.

The 37-year-old shared the news on Instagram, saying she plans to undergo surgery after her scheduled performance at Capital’s Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium later this month.

“I was diagnosed with early breast cancer,” she wrote. “Cancer sucks in any form, but I’m holding on to the word ‘early’. It’s a very dramatic way to get a boob job. I’m going to disappear for a bit after Summertime Ball to have my surgery, and I’ll come back with massive tits and more music.”

Jessie, whose full name is Jessica Cornish, said going public with her diagnosis was her way of processing the news and standing in solidarity with others facing similar battles.

“I just wanted to be open and share it,” she explained. “Selfishly, I don’t talk about it enough because I’m working so hard. But sharing has helped me in the past — through people’s love, support, and stories. I’m an open book.”

She added: “It breaks my heart that so many people are going through so much similar or worse — that’s the part that kills me.”

Reflecting on how the diagnosis has shifted her mindset, she said: “The timing has been mad but also beautiful — it’s given me a new perspective. But honestly, I need to process it, I need to talk about it, and I need a hug. You’ve all loved me through good and hard times — and I don’t want this to be any different.”

The news comes two years after Jessie welcomed her first child, Sky Safir Cornish Colman, in 2023 — following a miscarriage in November 2021.
