Controversial American artist Kanye West has claimed that Taylor Swift is partly to blame for him not being chosen to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Kanye also pointed to his support for Donald Trump and wearing the ‘Make America Great Again’ (MAGA) hat as another reason behind the snub. MAGA is a campaign slogan popularised by former President Trump.
The 47-year-old rapper, in a now-deleted post, stated that three key moments in his career cost him the Super Bowl opportunity. He wrote:
“I never was allowed to do the Super Bowl because of three moments. George Bush doesn’t care about Black people. The Taylor Swift movement moment. And wearing a MAGA hat.”
Kanye appeared to be referencing his infamous 2009 MTV Video Music Awards interruption, where he took the mic from Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech to praise Beyoncé.
