A Nigerian woman based in the UK has been convicted after secretly working in NHS hospitals with fake identification — despite having no medical training.
The 30-year-old student, living in Cardiff, secured shifts at multiple hospitals using shared fake ID cards alongside two accomplices, fraudulently earning around £16,000 a month from the NHS.
Her scheme was uncovered after staff noticed irregularities on her ID following a night shift, leading to investigations that revealed she accessed confidential patient records and restricted wards without authorisation.
She pleaded guilty to four fraud charges and received a suspended prison sentence with community service, as health officials warned her actions could have put patients at serious risk.
