Pope Leo hosts cathedral rave with priest-DJ to celebrate Archbishop’s 75th birthday

by Admin

In a historic fusion of faith and contemporary culture, the Vatican celebrated the 75th birthday of Archbishop Bernard Bober with a vibrant outdoor rave held outside St. Elisabeth Cathedral in Košice, Slovakia.

Organisers confirmed that Pope Leo XIV approved the event and invited a well-known priest DJ to headline the celebration, drawing thousands of young people to the cathedral square.

Before the music began, a warm video message from the Pope was displayed on a large screen, after which the gathering transitioned into an energetic mix of electronic dance sounds and spiritual elements. Attendees described the night as a unique blend of “festival energy and faith expression.”

Observers note that the celebration aligns with the Pope’s ongoing efforts to connect with younger generations and modernise the Church’s outreach. The impressive turnout in Košice has been hailed as a sign of growing youth engagement with religious activities.
