by Admin

President Bola Tinubu has announced a 30-day conference for the nation’s youth to discuss and address the challenges they face.

He made this announcement on Tuesday, October 1, during his nationwide broadcast in celebration of Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day Anniversary.

The President stated that the details and selection process for delegates will be finalised soon.

“As we strive to overcome the challenges of today, we remain focused on the next generation, harnessing their creative energy for a brighter future,” he said during his second Independence Day broadcast since assuming office on May 29, 2023.

He emphasised the importance of leading with the future in mind, stating, “We cannot design a future that belongs to our children without making them its architects.”

In light of this, President Tinubu announced the National Youth Conference, which will serve as a platform to address the challenges and opportunities facing young Nigerians, who make up over 60 per cent of the population.

The conference aims to foster meaningful dialogue and empower young people to take an active role in nation-building. By ensuring their voices are heard in shaping policies that affect them, the government is paving the way for a better tomorrow.

The 30-day conference will bring together youth from across the country to collaboratively address key issues such as education, employment, innovation, security, and social justice.

The selection process for delegates and other logistics will be developed in consultation with youth representatives. President Tinubu assured that the government will thoroughly consider and implement the recommendations from this conference as part of its commitment to building a more inclusive, prosperous, and united Nigeria.
