President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. Wang Yi, a prominent member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China and a key figure in China’s government, is in Nigeria for a two-day diplomatic visit focused on enhancing bilateral ties.
Upon his arrival at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, he was received by Dunoma Umar Ahmed, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The discussions are centred on reviewing the Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) signed during the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) summit in China.
The high-level talks cover economic collaboration, political relations, and advancements in the oil and gas sector. Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, is also in attendance as both nations work to strengthen their strategic partnership.
