Salah Dreads Liverpool Return Following Diogo Jota’s Tragic Death

In a heartfelt message on Instagram, Salah admitted the news has left him deeply shaken and reluctant to return to Liverpool after the international break.

“Until yesterday, I never thought there would be something that would make me afraid of going back to Liverpool after the break,” he wrote. “Teammates come and go—but not like this. It’s going to be extremely difficult to accept that Diogo won’t be there when we return.”

Salah extended his condolences to Jota’s family, highlighting the pain felt by those closest to the Portuguese forward.
“My thoughts are with his wife, his children, and of course his parents who suddenly lost their children. Those close to Diogo and his brother André need all the support they can get. They will never be forgotten,” he added.

Jota, who signed for Liverpool from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2020, played a vital role in the club’s attacking force—first under Jürgen Klopp, and more recently under Arne Slot.
Renowned for his sharp instincts and versatility, Jota made key contributions to Liverpool’s domestic and European campaigns throughout his four-year spell at Anfield.
