Somali-born entrepreneur, Fadumo Ali secures a 2 million euro funding for her company

Hoiwa Oy, a domestic company founded two years ago which plays a key role in the social and health care sector, while acting as a reliable partner of the public and private sectors throughout Finland has secured a 2 million euro seed funding to support the unprecedented growth of it’s services.

According to the founder & CEO, Fadumo Ali, the funding came from Nordia Management Oy and Trado Capital Oy. “We are developing a platform service that will help alleviate the chronic labor shortage in the care sector. With the funding round that has now been raised, the aim is already this year to increase the number of Hoi residents to more than 10,000, to start bringing nurses from abroad to Finland, and also to take the first steps in the Central European market” she said

The company is looking forward to increasing the appreciation of caregivers and bring the joy of work back to the care industry. Fadumo stated that the goal of the company is to continue fighting for better working conditions and wages for employees and to move the care industry in a more humane direction
She said that with the help of the technology that they have, umore than 3,000 community, health and nurses are employed both in the private and public sectors. The turnover of the company has increased in the spring of 2020, the turnover increased tenfold in 2021 to more than 4 million euros, and the turnover target for this year is more than 9 million euros. Operations have also been expended and expanded and a new office in has been opened in Tampere and, for the first time, also outside the borders of Finland, in Germany. Our company’s head office is located in Espoo. Customers include e.g. cities and hospital districts, as well as numerous private companies providing healthcare and elderly services.

Fadumo Ali, hails from Somalia. The 35-year-old immigrant woman and entrepreneur is making massive impact in the health care sector. She has transformed Hoiwa Oy in a remarkable force in Finland within a very short time. April this year, she won the Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Hoiwa Oy headoffice is situated in Espoo.
