Super Eagles striker, Kelechi Iheanacho, has been released by Leicester City following their promotion back to the Premier League. The 27-year-old began his senior career at Manchester City before transferring to the Foxes for £25 million in August 2017. He has spent the last seven years at the King Power Stadium.

Throughout his time with Leicester, Iheanacho contributed significantly to the team, helping them achieve consecutive fifth-place finishes in the Premier League and playing a crucial role in their FA Cup victory in 2021. His decisive goal in the semi-final against Southampton was a highlight of his tenure.

In the 2023/24 season, Iheanacho faced challenges in securing regular playing time, managing only six goals in 26 matches as Leicester clinched the Championship title. Following their promotion to the Premier League, the club has decided to release Iheanacho along with Dennis Praet and Marc Albrighton.

Iheanacho made a total of 232 appearances for Leicester City, scoring 61 goals. His standout season was 2020/21, during which he netted 19 goals in 39 matches, with 12 of those goals in the Premier League. His impressive performance earned him the Premier League Player of the Month award for March after scoring five goals in three games.
