Tems set to headline the FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show

by Admin

Nigerian music sensation Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, is set to headline the first-ever halftime show at a FIFA Club World Cup final. The historic event will take place at MetLife Stadium in New York on July 13, 2025.

Tems will share the stage with Colombian superstar J Balvin and American pop icon Doja Cat, delivering a powerful international performance during the final match. The show, produced by Global Citizen, will be streamed live and free on DAZN.com, giving fans around the world a front-row seat to the spectacle.

Expressing her excitement, Tems said:
“We’re going to bring the world together for a beautiful moment to celebrate football, feel the unity that music brings, and improve the lives of millions of children through the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund. I can’t wait. See you at the FIFA Club World Cup final!”

Her manager, Muyiwa Awoniyi, confirmed the news in a post on X, thanking FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evans for the opportunity.
“This is the first-ever halftime show in a FIFA competition and we are proud and honoured to be a part of it,” he added.

The performance also serves a bigger purpose: to raise over \$100 million for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which supports education initiatives through the Football for Schools program in over 200 countries. For every ticket sold to Club World Cup 2025 matches in the U.S., \$1 will be donated to the fund.

Global Citizen noted, “With performances from artists across Africa, South America, and North America, this event reflects our core belief: that music and unity can help solve the world’s greatest challenges.”

The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup is expected to be the largest edition yet, attracting millions of viewers from around the globe.
