Singer Timaya has opened up about his decision to stay unmarried, despite his successful career. In a recent interview with Naija FM, he revealed that marriage has never appealed to him and that it’s not something he’s ever been interested in. However, he admitted that his views might change in the future.
“I’ve never been a married guy, but things can change because marriage is crazy. I just think if I marry today, would I be able to leave? In all my previous relationships, I was the one who walked away because I don’t like stress,” he explained.
Timaya shared that his reluctance to marry stems from his desire for freedom and dislike for stress. He emphasized the importance of open communication in relationships, saying, “If you have a problem with me, let’s talk about it. I don’t like going to bed with things on my mind. I don’t want anything bothering me.”
On fatherhood, Timaya spoke about his close bond with his children, who live with their mothers. While fatherhood can be challenging, he finds it enjoyable and makes sure to spend quality time with his kids. He clarified that even though he isn’t romantically involved with their mothers, they share a respectful, familial relationship.
