My name is Tariro Blessing from Zimbabwe. I am 27 years old nursing student and I live in Espoo. I lived in Beijing, China for four years before moving to Finland in September last year. I came to Finland to study and I’m presently working as a student nurse.

It seems like travelling is your number one hobby, tell us why you like travelling and mention some of the places you have visited?
The thing about travelling, I think I grew up with it because when I was a kid, my father used to take us to different places. Basically, when I went to China, that was when I started real-time travelling. Travelling within Asian countries is cheap when compared to other places. So that was how I was going to places. I have been to Thailand for an educational tour organized by the United Nations. I have been to Egypt, the Philippines, Mongolia, Turkey, Spain, etc. In total, I have been to about 13 countries and still want to visit many places.

Which among the countries you visited did you enjoy the most and why?
The country that I enjoyed the most which still lingers in my memory is the Philippines. The food in the Philippines is so nice, it’s almost like Zimbabwean food. Also, it was the trip that I didn’t have to budget so much unlike other trips. We travelled in a group and it was quite easy to split the bills. The country is beautiful, with amazing nature and interesting places to visit. I would love to visit the country again.
Vacation requires money, how have you been able to cope with it?
You are right, vacation requires money but it’s like a hobby to me, something that I like to research. Sincerely, I think that I didn’t pay as much as everyone would pay when it comes to travelling because I normally study the place in advance and try to find out some available discount. What I also do is that I do contact the places and tell them that I’m an Instagram blogger and I would like to visit the place. Some people would accept and give me a good discount or they can ask me to come for lunch or dinner. I also use the educational tours to visit places by staying back after the summit. It’s not like I’m spending a lot of money on vacation. Another trick is that I always take long layover flights like 36 hours or more. Some flights will offer you a free hotel or a free tour. I remember when I was travelling to Zimbabwe, I boarded Turkish Airways and they offered me a free hotel and I did my tour by myself because I already know what to do. I also had the opportunity to see some places in Egypt when I boarded a long layover Air Egypt flight. I also had some trips which required little money. Don’t forget that I’m a hardworking young lady.

What does your wine choice say about you?
Actually, I like sparkling wine, Moscato and Prosecco are my favourites. Since I cannot afford champagne all the time, Prosecco is what takes the place of champagne.
