A 31-year-old woman, Phume Nhlangulela, was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend in Inanda Township, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
The Women For Change advocacy group revealed this in a statement on Monday, June 10, 2024.
According to the statement, Phume’s family began searching for her after she went missing. Their search led to the grim discovery of her half-naked, decomposing body in a room reportedly rented by her boyfriend in Amatikwe, Inanda, on June 5, 2024.
Phume was found lying on the floor with her hands above her head, covered by a blanket. She had a visible head injury, and there are suspicions that she was strangled.
The boyfriend fled the scene and remains at large.
After the family shared their heartbreaking story on social media, many people reached out, including an individual who accused the suspect of murdering another woman in Durban.
No arrests have been made.
