Congratulations are pouring in for celebrity couple Nelly and Ashanti!
As reported by Page Six, the duo is expecting their second child together following their secret wedding in December 2023.
Ashanti’s pregnancy comes just months after she and Nelly welcomed their first child, Kareem Kenkaide Hayne, on July 18. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Ashanti shared the emotional moment of seeing her newborn for the first time.
“I cried; it was just so emotional and spiritual at the same time. Having envisioned this moment for so long … it was such an electrifying feeling,” she said.
Nelly, 50, and Ashanti, 44, first crossed paths at a Grammy Awards press conference in 2003. Over the years, they’ve collaborated on several projects, including their 2008 hit Body on Me and the 2024 track This Lil’ Game We Play.
The couple dated for a decade before splitting in 2013. They publicly reunited in April 2023 during a boxing match in Las Vegas, and by September, Nelly confirmed they were back together, admitting their rekindled romance “surprised” them both.
According to a marriage license obtained by Page Six, the couple tied the knot on December 27, 2023, in Nelly’s hometown of St. Louis, Missouri.
