Real Madrid have officially confirmed the signing of England international Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool, securing the defender on a six-year contract that will run from June 1, 2025, to June 30, 2031.
In a statement released on their website, the Spanish giants announced: “Real Madrid C.F. and Liverpool FC have reached an agreement for Trent Alexander-Arnold, who will be linked to our club for the next six seasons.”
Alexander-Arnold joins Los Blancos after a glittering career at Liverpool, where he emerged from the club’s academy to become one of the game’s most decorated full-backs. During his time at Anfield, he lifted nine major trophies, including a UEFA Champions League title, a FIFA Club World Cup, a UEFA Super Cup, two Premier League titles, an FA Cup, two EFL Cups, and a Community Shield.
A regular for the England national team since making his debut in 2018, he has represented the Three Lions at the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups, as well as UEFA Euro 2024.
On an individual level, Alexander-Arnold has earned global recognition for his outstanding performances. His accolades include a place in the FIFA FIFPro World 11 (2020), two selections in the UEFA Champions League Team of the Season (2018/19 and 2021/22), and three appearances in the Premier League Team of the Season (2018/19, 2019/20, and 2021/22). He was also named the Premier League Young Player of the Season in 2019/20.
He is expected to make his debut for Real Madrid at the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, which kicks off in the United States on June 14.
