The Lagos State High Court has instructed controversial social media critic Martin Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan, to delete defamatory comments and videos regarding lawyer and human rights activist Femi Falana (SAN) and his son, Folarin.

Justice M. O. Idowu issued this ruling in suit no: ID/8584/GCM/2024 on Tuesday.

In the court’s findings, VeryDarkMan’s social media posts from September 24, 2024, which linked Bobrisky to Falz and his father, were deemed defamatory and damaging to their public image. Dawodu stated, “According to the applicants (Falz and Falana), the defendant (VeryDarkMan) was aware that these statements (Bobrisky’s claims) were false and untrue, yet he published them to harm their reputation.

“Moreover, the defamatory statements continue to trend on the defendant’s various online platforms, perpetuating the damage to their reputation as long as the publications remain accessible.”
