Chinese-born cryptocurrency entrepreneur Justin Sun recently fulfilled his promise to eat the banana from the controversial artwork Comedian, valued at $6.2 million (£4.9 million).
Created by Maurizio Cattelan in 2019, the artwork features a banana duct-taped to a wall. Sun acquired it at a Sotheby’s auction in New York, outbidding six others. While the banana itself cost just 35 cents that day, it has now become arguably one of the world’s most expensive fruits.
