Wizkid: “Women Are the Inspiration Behind My Music”

by Admin

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Ayodeji Balogun, widely known as Wizkid, has shared the source of his musical inspiration.

The afrobeats star revealed that women are the driving force behind his music, stating in a now-deleted post on X: “Women inspire music! Gods on earth.”

Famous for his romantic tracks celebrating women, Wizkid dedicated his latest album, Morayo, to his late mother, Morayo Jane Balogun.

The album has achieved remarkable success, breaking Tyla’s record for the most first-week streams for an African album on Spotify, amassing 48 million streams in just six days. It surpassed Tyla’s previous record of 46.4 million streams and also set a new milestone with 52.8 million streams for the biggest opening week for an African album on the platform.
