Miss Universe runner-up Chidimma Adetshina has announced her decision to step away from pageantry.
In an interview with Silverbird TV, Adetshina described the experience as traumatic, sharing that her decision is personal and includes relocating from South Africa to Nigeria.
“Finishing in the top 2 at the Miss Universe competition is still a shock to me,” she said. “Honestly, I’m done. Pageantry was a truly traumatic experience. People don’t understand how I felt. There were moments I nearly quit during the contest. I’m ready to focus on myself, further my education, and rediscover who I am.”
Adetshina, who was crowned Miss Universe Africa and Oceania after finishing as 1st runner-up, also previously held the title of Miss Nigeria. She withdrew from the Miss South Africa contest following controversy over her nationality.
