Olamide: The King of Nigerian Street Music – Shallipo

by Admin

Singer Crown Uzama, known by his stage name Shallipopi, recently hailed veteran rapper Olamide as the king of Nigerian street music.

In an interview with Naija FM, Shallipopi shared that he collaborated with Olamide on his track ‘Order’ because of Olamide’s strong influence in the street music scene. “Baddo [Olamide] is the father and king of Nigerian street music. So I had to feature him on ‘Order’ because it’s a street song, and Olamide owns the street,” he explained.

Shallipopi also confirmed during the interview that he has amicably parted ways with Dapper Music following the end of his contract, dismissing rumours of any conflict with his former label. He clarified that they remain on good terms.
