Saliba agrees new long-term contract with Arsenal

by Admin

Arsenal have announced that France international William Saliba has committed his future to the club by signing a new long-term contract.

The 24-year-old centre-back has agreed a five-year deal that will keep him at the Emirates until 2030, extending his previous contract which was due to expire in 2027. Saliba, who joined Arsenal in 2019, spent several seasons on loan before cementing his place in Mikel Arteta’s side during the 2022/23 campaign. Since then, he has become a key figure in defence, helping the Gunners secure three consecutive second-place finishes in the Premier League.

Speaking after the deal was confirmed, Saliba said: “I feel at home. We have a good team, a good squad, and good staff. The coach is perfect for me, so this is the best place to be. I enjoy every day I get to wear this shirt. I try to give everything, and now I’ll give even more to this club and to the fans.”

Manager Mikel Arteta praised the defender’s growth and influence, adding: “William is loved by all the players and staff, and that speaks volumes about his character, commitment and attitude every day. Since joining us, William has grown so much, embraced responsibility, and built a strong connection with our supporters and everyone at the club.”

Arsenal currently sit second in the Premier League, two points behind leaders Liverpool after six games.
