Popular Nollywood actor and activist Yomi Fabiyi has announced plans to lead a protest to the Lagos State House of Assembly, demanding justice for late singer Mohbad.
The protest is set for September 30, coinciding with the resumption of the coroner’s inquest into Mohbad’s death.
In an Instagram post on Monday, Fabiyi urged the public to join him in pressuring the police to access CCTV footage from Mohbad’s house, which he believes is key to uncovering the truth behind the singer’s death.
He called for the Lagos State government to step in and establish a committee to retrieve the CCTV content.
Fabiyi stated, “It’s essential we peacefully protest at the Lagos State House of Assembly on September 30, 2024. Those responsible for Mohbad’s death are trying to cover it up, spending millions to distract and bury evidence.”
He added, “We’re confident the CCTV cameras in and around Mohbad’s house were working and stored remotely. The security and CDA at Royal Pine Estate, Lekki, must have answers. The police’s reluctance to retrieve it is frustrating, and we need the state government to intervene.”
Fabiyi concluded, “Let’s unite and speak with one voice on September 30, 2024. This struggle needs your support. Be civil and orderly when attending.”
