English Premier League side Nottingham Forest are close to offering Super Eagles defender Ola Aina a new contract, following his impressive performances for the Tricky Trees this season.
The 28-year-old right-back’s current deal is set to expire at the end of the campaign. Amid interest from clubs within and outside England, Aina had been linked with a possible move away from the City Ground.
However, recent developments indicate that the two-time European champions want to retain his services beyond this season under manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
According to The Telegraph UK, a new contract offer has been on the table for some time, and an additional one-year extension has already been triggered—keeping Aina at the club through the 2025/2026 season.
Aina has been a key figure for Forest this term, making 35 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
He recently returned to action after recovering from a calf injury, which had sidelined him briefly. His absence was felt, as Forest’s form dipped and they dropped out of the UEFA Champions League qualification spots.
Currently sitting 7th in the Premier League with two games remaining, Nottingham Forest still have a chance to secure European football next season, but they must win both matches and rely on favourable results elsewhere.
