Chelsea Football Club coach, Enzo Maresca, has appointed Moses Caicedo as the team’s captain.
In a statement shared via Fabrizio Romano’s X account on Sunday, the midfielder expressed his gratitude to the coach for the appointment.
“I’m grateful to Maresca for making me Chelsea’s captain. I want to become a legend here, and that’s what I’m working hard to achieve every day. It means a lot to captain Chelsea. It’s a dream come true because I grew up supporting the club,” Caicedo said.
Chelsea is set to face Nottingham Forest on Sunday in the 2024/2025 season.
It’s worth noting that Moises Caicedo signed an eight-year contract with Chelsea in a £100m transfer from Brighton, with an additional £15m in performance-related add-ons, after rejecting a £111m move to Liverpool.
