IPOB Supreme leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has directed Finland based human rights activist and Pro Biafra agitator Simon Ekpa to start broadcasting from Radio Biafra with immediate effect.
The order came on the heels of the abduction, torture and repatriation of the leader of IPOB from Kenya to Nigeria to face charges that the federal government brought against him. The Kenyan government had denied any involvement in the barbaric act of extraordinary rendition which infringes his rights and most basic principles of the rule of law.
Radio Biafra is the fulcrum of the Biafra agitation struggle since it’s inception. IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, a crusader against the government of President Muhammadu Buhari has been able to garner worldwide support for Biafra restoration via his astute knowledge of media which made Radio Biafra a formidable force.
Sequel to his abduction in Kenya and repatriation to Nigeria where he is currently in DSS custody, a vacuum was created that needed to be taken care of in other to keep millions of IPOB members abreast with the latest updates in regard to his case with the government and the way forward.
Eloquent Immigration expert, Simon Ekpa is no doubt the right candidate to take over from Nnamdi Kanu at Radio Biafra owing to what he has achieved in the Biafra struggle since he wholeheartedly joined IPOB few years ago.
Simon hails from Ebonyi state, and he has been living in Finland for more than a decade. He is a Finnish citizen and a politician. He was recently elected deputy councillor in his municipality. The former Igbo Union chairman in Finland has contributed a lot towards the welfare of Ndi Igbo in Finland.
While reacting to the new directive which took effect from 8 July 2021, Simon who pride himself as Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s disciple on Biafra restoration stated that “it is honour, and at the same time, a call to service, a call to serve Biafra nation and a call to serve lovers of freedom. This task, i will do with everything in me to see that we maintain the momentum and the legacy of our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB”
“I will serve with everything in me and i will double my effort in media, diplomacy and otherwise to the best interest of Biafra people. I am just a servant and i will serve. Our leader will continue to lead this struggle from where ever he is, he said
When Diaspora Glitz Magazine contacted Mr Anthony Chijioke Obasi, the National Coordinator of IPOB in Finland over the new development, he said the directive is in order. “Mazi Nnamdi Kanu cannot actualize the Biafra restoration alone, he need people to work with him. IPOB is one big family”
