Liberian-born Jesse Markin thrills a large crowd at Flow Festival in Helsinki

by Admin

One of the brightest new stars in Finnish indie music, Jesse Markin was among the few artists who have African roots that graced the enviable stage of the Flow Festival in Helsinki.

Being among the festival artists with the likes of Hassan Maikal & Yeboyah  goes to show that there is a light at the end of the tunnel for artists of African backgrounds in Africa. The Liberian-born star rapper and singer combines indie pop, folk, hip-hop, r&b, and electronic radio pop in his music.

As usual, Jesse delivered and lived up to expectation with his electrifying stage command and vocal power. It was a great day for him and his team.

Jesse who originally made his name as a rapper for the cult band The Megaphone State is an Emma awards winner. He has also won other awards. He is among the few artists of African backgrounds who have had a breakthrough in the Finnish music industry.
