Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah has made history as the highest-ever African goal scorer in the Champions League, netting a remarkable 45 goals.
The 32-year-old Egyptian forward found the back of the net in the 75th minute, contributing to Liverpool’s victory over Bologna on Wednesday, September 2.
Salah’s milestone goal came in spectacular fashion, helping Liverpool clinch a crucial win in their latest group-stage match.
With this goal, Salah surpasses the previous record held by Ivory Coast legend Didier Drogba, who scored 44 goals, while Cameroonian hero Samuel Eto’o sits in third place with 35.
According to Squawka, Salah has also set additional records, becoming the first Liverpool player to score in five consecutive Champions League matches at Anfield and the first player to both score and assist in nine Champions League games for an English club.
