Singer Simisola Kosoko, popularly known as Simi, recently shared insights into the creation of her controversial song, ‘Men Are Crazy,’ revealing that her husband, Adekunle Gold, sparked the idea behind it.
In a recent interview on Angela Yee’s podcast, ‘Way Up,’ Simi disclosed that her husband, fellow singer Adekunle Gold, initially proposed the concept for the song.
“He said, ‘Babe, how about we do a song where you talk about men being crazy, but you still want one in your bed?'” Simi recounted. “I thought it was a fresh perspective, something unexpected from me. That’s how the song came about.”
Simi also shared her creative process, mentioning that although she had already penned two verses for the song, she felt something was missing. It was then that the idea to collaborate with Tiwa Savage struck her.
“After completing the song, I felt it needed something more. That’s when I thought of having Tiwa on board,” Simi explained. “Even though our musical styles don’t always align, I felt it would be exciting to merge our talents and create something unique together. So I reached out to Tiwa, she added her verse, and we collaborated on the music video as well.”
Simi’s revelation sheds light on the collaborative nature of the music industry and the creative inspiration that can arise from unexpected sources.
