Clocking an impressive 24 hours and 46 minutes, Nigerian trumpeter Joshua Olusanya, famously known as BossBoss, has rewritten the record books by clinching the Guinness World Record for the Longest Marathon Playing the Trumpet, a title previously held by Ghantasala Satya Sai from Hyderabad, India.
In his jubilant declaration, the enthusiastic musician and mentor hailing from Osun State exclaimed, “Every piece of evidence has been meticulously submitted to the Guinness World Record for thorough scrutiny, and now, I eagerly await the official acknowledgment.”
BossBoss reassured observers that every rule and guideline had been meticulously followed, expressing unwavering certainty in the impending validation by the esteemed global authority.
Reflecting on the arduous journey to this momentous achievement, he shared, “With over a decade of immersive experience in both performing and teaching music, I’ve honed my skills to effortlessly navigate through various musical genres. As Africa’s preeminent Trumpet Influencer, I felt compelled to undertake this monumental challenge. Despite encountering numerous hurdles along the way, my determination never wavered. After an exhaustive effort, I triumphantly maintained the trumpet for an astonishing 24 hours and 46 minutes.”
Currently serving as the Associate Band Director at the American International School of Abuja, BossBoss has left an indelible mark on students from diverse cultural backgrounds, imparting his wealth of musical knowledge and expertise.
Recalling his educational voyage, he recounted, “In my relentless pursuit of musical excellence, I seized every opportunity to expand my horizons. Awarded a prestigious two-year scholarship to pursue Trumpet Performance at the Musical Society of Nigeria (Muson), I obtained a diploma in Music in 2018. Additionally, I delved into the Theory of Music, excelling in grade 8 of the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music London (ABRSM), while also attaining a distinction in the Grade 8 Trumpet Practical examination.”
BossBoss emphasized the significance of practical experience beyond the confines of academia, recounting his involvement in numerous international excursions with orchestras, jazz bands, and as a distinguished soloist in renowned music festivals.
