The naira saw a significant appreciation at the official foreign exchange market, ending the week in a stronger position.
FMDQ data revealed that the naira improved to N1,531.20 per dollar on Friday, January 24, from N1,548.59 on Thursday, gaining N17.39. On the black market, the naira closed at N1,660 per dollar on Friday, compared to N1,650 on Thursday.
Throughout the week, the naira experienced more gains than losses.
Meanwhile, Central Bank of Nigeria Governor Olayemi Cardoso stated that the country’s economy is expected to grow by 2025 as financial sector reforms take effect.
