Famous Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has shared why she does not sign up-and-coming artists.
In an interview with Forbes Africa, the 45-year-old explained that she does not have the “gift” to manage artists’ behavior.
She added that instead of signing artists, she would rather establish a music school where emerging talents can learn and later get signed by record labels.
“Everyone always asks, ‘When are you going to sign an artist?’ I don’t think I have the gift to sign artists because they are stressful. I could just wake up from sleep, and my artist is trending for something else.
“But I have the gift to help, which is why I’m trying to have a music school, where artists can go and later sign to a label that can actually help.”
