Afrobeats star Ayodeji Balogun, widely known as Wizkid, has shattered the record for the highest opening day streams on Spotify Nigeria.
Wizkid’s previous record was set by his collaboration with American artist Brent Faiyaz on the R&B track “Piece Of My Heart,” which garnered 1.016 million streams in a single day on Spotify Nigeria. However, his latest release, “Kese (Dance),” has now surpassed this milestone with 1.57 million streams.
The song also set a new record for the largest opening day streams for an African track globally, with a staggering 2.753 million streams on Spotify worldwide.
“Kese” is one of the lead singles from Wizkid’s eagerly awaited album, *Morayo*, which is set to be released later this month. The album is dedicated to his late mother, Mrs. Morayo Jane Balogun.
