You can find the Malmi service point in the Finnish Immigration Service’s appointment service called Helsinki: Malmi service point. See the service point’s opening hours can be seen on its page.

Asylum interviews and oral hearings in Helsinki will normally continue at Ratapihantie 11, Helsinki

About the new office……..

The new office is conveniently accessible by train or bus. For those arriving by car, there are time-limited free parking spaces along Viljatie and in the parking garages of the Malmintori shopping center. There are no parking spaces reserved for guests on the service point site.

The newsletter also stated that security screening will be introduced to the new center from April 12 to ensure that clients, interpreters, assistants and agency staff have a safe work environment.

The Screening of clients…….

Migri asks clients to arrive at least 10 minutes before the agreed time. Because of the coronavirus, they can only admit a limited number of people. If you arrive long before the start of your appointment, you will have to wait for your turn outside the service point.

The safety check works best when you remove all metal-rich items, such as large jewelry and a belt, and place them on the X-ray belt for inspection.

Migri recommend that you bring as little stuff as possible, so the inspection is faster.

Tell the safety officer if you have metal parts on your body, such as a prosthesis or artificial joint. Also, report if you have a pacemaker and bring a pacemaker card if you have one. Some parts of clothing, such as sequins, metal buttons, and undergarment support arches, can also cause an alarm.

If infants or small children are involved, the child passes through the metal detector port on the parent’s lap. The child’s food and other accessories are placed on the X-ray belt.

Remember that an inspection is done every time you enter the customer space. If you occasionally go outside and return to client mode again, you will need to walk through the security check again when you return.
