I made money even before E-Money – Kcee

by Admin

Nigerian singer Kingsley Okonkwo, better known as Kcee, has opened up about his relationship with his younger brother, billionaire businessman Emeka Okonkwo, aka E-Money.

Kcee revealed that he achieved financial success before E-Money, emphasising that his brother was once his manager. He also shared that although E-Money now has more wealth, he has been instrumental in supporting Kcee’s career.

Speaking on a recent episode of the Tea With Tay podcast, Kcee said, “E-Money used to be my manager. When I blew up as KC-Prech, he was our manager. I made money before him. I even helped sponsor his wedding. Then he started making money, and soon, he was making even more.”

He continued, “If I had invested the years I’ve spent in music into a business, I’d be ten times richer. E-Money has businesses that generate consistent returns. But we artists live flashy lives… Sometimes we get a hit, sometimes we don’t.”

Kcee went on to speak about the deep bond he shares with his brother, recalling, “My mum told me that when he was born, I held his hand and shed tears of joy. I stayed with baby E-Money at the hospital for three days. Growing up, it was always just me and him.”

He further explained, “The relationship grew so strong that I started shouting ‘E-Money’ in my songs. I named him E-Money. I used to be K-Money, then there was P-Money (which is Prech), and then E-Money. At that time, he wasn’t wealthy, but we called the money into existence. When the money came, he continued to be known as E-Money. In my songs, I used to shout ‘E-Money’; most people thought I was the E-Money until he started gaining visibility.”

Kcee also shared that some people approached him, asking him to stop promoting his brother E-Money in his songs for fear that E-Money might outshine him. However, Kcee made it clear that he had no jealousy towards his brother’s success.
